  • Gear up – Check all equipment, including cameras, drones (if applicable), audio gear, lighting, and more.
  • Schedule the shoot – Plan your shoot day(s) with time blocks for all activities.

Production & post-production checklist. Bringing your vision to life

With planning in place, it’s time to work on your final product.

  • Set up your equipment – make sure you have time to rig cameras, microphones, lighting, and staging. Do a quick test run.
    Film the scenes – Follow your shot list, stay flexible, and capture both required and bonus footage.
  • Organize footage – Backup files, label scenes, and arrange clips chronologically for smoother editing.
  • Edit the video – Trim footage, arrange scenes, and apply transitions for a clean visual flow.
  • Add music, sound effects & voice-overs – Layer audio to enhance mood and storytelling.

Final touches & review

Polish visuals, check for continuity, colour grading, and sync across video and audio.

  • Render & Save Your Final Cut – Export in high-quality format suitable for submission or distribution.
  • Submit Film to CARU Film Fest – Prepare submission materials and meet the festival’s requirements. Time to share your work with the world!
